Amy Essington a historian of 20th century America with interests in social history, sport history, and women’s history. Her research includes the integration of sport, particularly baseball, social movements, and race.
She completed a B.A. and M.A. in History at California State University, Long Beach, and a Ph.D. at Claremont Graduate University. Amy was an intern at the National Baseball Hall of Fame Library and the Smithsonian’s National American History Museum.
She is currently a lecturer at California State University, Fullerton, and Cal Poly Pomona and the Executive Director of the Historical Society of Southern California.
